    • Q. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO SIGN UP?

      A. Membership rates start at $179/month ($179/month with an 8-month commitment or $199/month with a 4-month commitment). We also require all new members to go through three one-on-one sessions with a coach to learn the various lifts and movements that will come up in a CrossFit class. These three sessions are $149 (total). If you are an experienced CrossFitter, you may have the option to test-out of the three one-on-one sessions.

    • Q. CAN I COME IN TO TRY OUT A BEGINNER CLASS?

      A. Our group classes are only for members. If you’d like to give CrossFit a try, we do offer a free introductory session. This session would be one-on-one with a coach, so can be scheduled at a time that’s convenient for you.     • Q. I’VE DONE CROSSFIT BEFORE; CAN I SKIP THE THREE ONE-ON-ONE SESSIONS THAT ARE REQUIRED FOR NEW MEMBERS?

      A.Yes, experienced CrossFitters have the option to test-out. You will be tested on the following movements during your test-out session (you do not need to be an expert, just demonstrate that you have some foundational knowledge in each of these movements):

      The test-out session costs $50. If you’ve been CrossFitting for longer than 6 months, we will also accept written verification from your previous coach that you are proficient in these foundational movements.

    • Q. I CAN ONLY COME X TIMES PER MONTH. CAN I PAY PER CLASS OR BUY A PUNCHCARD?

      A. Unfortunately, CFHW does not offer the option to pay-as-you-go. When we’ve offered this this option in the past, we found that people would come very infrequently and not get the true benefit of CrossFit. In order to see results, you need to be consistent with your training. Therefore, all of our memberships are for unlimited classes per month.

    • Q. WHAT DOES “PRO-RATED” MEAN?

      A. All CFHW billing takes place on the 1st of the month. So if your first day happens to be on the 15th of the month, you would be charged $99 for the 3 initial one-on-one sessions plus half a month of membership to bring your account current through the month.

    GENERAL QUESTIONS
    • Q. I’M A FEMALE, AND I DON’T WANT TO BULK UP. WON’T LIFTING ALL THOSE WEIGHTS MAKE ME BULKY?

      A. The only way you’re going to get big is if you’re eating to get big. Alternately, the only way you’re going to get lean is if you’re eating to get lean. No one has ever gotten “body-building big” just by doing CrossFit. Nutrition is the main ingredient, and we’re happy to help you figure out the right plan for you.     • Q. IS IT ONLY GROUP CLASSES? CAN I COME IN AND WORK OUT ON MY OWN?

      A. Most new members will start in the group class environment. We do offer open hours several days a week for advanced athletes to come in and work on weaknesses or skills that they need particular focus on. In order to attend the open hours, you must get permission from Coach Andy.

    • Q. HOW OFTEN CAN/SHOULD I COME TO CLASS?

      A. CrossFit Hollywood memberships are for unlimited classes per month; you can come as often as your body will let you. :-) CrossFit prescribes a training schedule of three days on, one day off, though most people will need to build up to that level. Start off training every other day and see how your body reacts. If that’s ok, try 2 days on, 1 day off for a few weeks and see how you do with that. Build up slowly to an intense schedule. CrossFit is an intense workout, and proper rest and recovery is essential.

    • Q. DO YOU HAVE PARKING?

      A. The lot in our building complex has a 20-minute time limit. Since CrossFit classes last an hour, your best bet is to park on the street. Luckily, there is plenty of street parking available. Click here for a parking map of the surrounding area.

    • Q. DO YOU HAVE A SHOWER?

      A. We do indeed have a shower.  :-)

    • Q. I HAVE AN INJURY. CAN I STILL DO CROSSFIT?

      A. It depends on the injury, but chances are that yes – you should still be working out! Your best bet is to talk to us about what’s giving you trouble. Our coaches are are experienced and happy to modify any workout to work around your injury. There are still plenty of things you can do while injured. The worst thing you can do is avoid coming to the gym. This will only prolong your healing and make you out of shape and weak. Furthermore, exercise produces growth hormone, which will speed up your healing and recovery. What you should do is look at your injury as an opportunity to work on weaknesses you may have otherwise neglected.

    • Q. DO I HAVE TO SIGN UP FOR CLASS AHEAD OF TIME?

      A. We cap our class sizes at 12 to make sure every member is getting the quality attention they deserve. Though most of our classes don’t hit that 12-person mark, it is highly recommended that you sign up for class ahead of time to ensure you get a spot in the class. If you show up without having signed up ahead of time and there are already 12 people scheduled, you will not be allowed to take class and must wait until the next class starts (assuming there’s not already 12 in that one too!). :-)
      Bottom line: sign up ahead of time. It’s really easy and doesn’t take much time.

    • Q. HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR CLASSES?

      A. Click here to go to our MindBody scheduling tool. Find the class you want to sign up for and click the “Sign Up Now” button right next to it. You’ll be prompted to either login or create an account.

    • Q. HOW DO I CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP?

      A. Email us at cancel@crossfithollywood.com, and we’ll send you the cancellation form. PUT IN SUBJECT LINE: FULL NAME AND DATE. Keep in mind that CFHW has a 30-day cancellation policy; cancellation requests must be made 30 days prior to the next billing cycle, or your account will be charged again. This means that if you know that you will be moving out of town on April 1, you must let us know by March 1st that you intend to cancel.

    • Q. I’LL BE OUT OF TOWN FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. CAN I PUT MY MEMBERSHIP ON HOLD?

      A. Yes, CFHW offers the ability to freeze your membership for $50/month. If you are still within your initial contract term, your contract end date will extend by the length of the freeze.

    • Q. I CROSSFIT OUT OF TOWN AND WILL BE VISITING SOON. CAN I DROP-IN FOR A CLASS?

      A. Sure; we’d love to have you join us for a WOD while you’re in town. The cost is $20/class for drop-ins, and you can come by anytime. It is recommended that you sign up for class ahead of time by clicking the “class schedule” link at the top of the page to ensure you get a spot in class (CFHW caps our class sizes at 12 people to ensure plenty of personal attention).
