PALEO CHECK-INposted April 05
What’s up, cavemen and cavewomen? You guys are almost half way through the Paleo Challenge and are doing great! Whether you’re brand new to Crossfit or finally decided to see what Paleo is all about, I’m sure you’ve noticed some changes in your health and performance, and hopefully your body! It’s great to see so many brand new people jump in to the Crossfit lifestyle with two feet, and we’re pumped that some of our seasoned veterans finally decided to take the plunge and see how clean eating can affect their performance and overall well-being.
By now you should have passed the energy dip associated with the transition to a low carb/sugar diet. Congratulations. You’re out of the woods! It only gets better from here. Your bodies have adjusted to getting the required energy from fat, a state knows as ketosis. It no longer relies on sugar from carbohydrates as its primary source of energy. This is a good thing. You should also be noticing multiple benefits, such as raised energy levels, less inflammation and pain, weight loss, improved athletic performance and much more!
Remember to ask any of your trainers if you have any questions about anything. There’s very active Facebook group for people to share recipes, ask questions and discuss topics. You guys have become a pretty solid community, and even have a pot-luck organized. Well done, people! Keep doing what you’re doing and we’ll see (a more awesome version of) you at the end of the month!
