ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT: JASSON SILVA!posted March 31
Hey, homies (as Jasson would say). Jasson Silva’s time in the spotlight is long overdue. He has made huge gains since joining CFHW (his photo in MindBody doesn’t even look like him anymore) and recently competed in the 2012 Crossfit Games Open. You can see Jasson crushing regularly at the 4:00 class, often times next to his son, Manny, who’s gonna be a beast some day soon. You might even catch them talking trash to each other during workouts. So, without further adieu, JASSON SILVA!!!!!!!!

Profession: Administrative Asst.
How long have you been a member at CFHW? A little over a year and a half.
How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle, level of fitness? Crossfit has changed my life in many ways. I have lost about 50 pounds. I always thought that going to the local gym and doing sets and running on a treadmill was the best way to go but unfortunately there were never results… Once I found crossfit my life changed. I stuck to the workouts and followed the Paleolithic diet. These two factors helped transform my body in a way that I’d never been able to achieve through many years of going to the gym. I now feel stronger, faster, healthier, and more confident.
What is your athletic background? I currently play basketball and soccer.
Favorite WOD: “Nancy” and chippers.
Favorite Lift: Overhead squats.
Least Favorite WOD: Anything with ROWING.
Least Favorite Lift: anything from the hang position.
What are your proudest achievements? Being able to work out with my son.
Name one goal and/or personal record you would like to accomplish through CrossFit? 5 muscle ups unbroken.
Any advice for someone thinking about trying CrossFit or someone who has just started? Go for it! You have nothing to lose. If you want results and are serious about losing weight this is for you. Don’t be intimidated, take your time and be patient.
Favorite place to eat in Los Angeles? Road to Seoul- Korean BBQ.
