COMPETITIONposted July 05
The time has come for the Crossfit Games. This year the stakes have been raised. Reebok’s behind it and there is a total of $1million in prizes going to the winners. We are fortunate enough to have the Games in our backyard at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA. They begin on Friday, July 29th and go through Sunday the 31st. Tickets are still available here. The great thing about the Games is how pumped it makes you to work out. It also gives us a chance to see some of the fittest athletes in the world completely crush workouts that would make average men and women tremble. Competition is important because it pushes us to a place we normally would not go. For most of us, we need something external to push us beyond our comfort zone. This is where Crossfit prevails over other methods. In a group setting, with others around you and people cheering, you can achieve what you never thought possible.
This weekend there is an open competition called the Tri-County Shakedown in Westlake at Crossfit Fast. If you want to get a taste of what a Crossfit competition is like, check it out. More information is available here. CFHW has a team consisting of Brian Jaffe, Zee Brod, Nikki Coletta and Angela Brunson, so wish them luck.
And for some WOD-porn, here are some videos to hold you over until the Games.
