There aren’t many activities that Angela doesn’t do. Marathons? Check. Triathlons? Check. Rock climing? Check. Motorcycle racing? Check. Motocross? Check. White water rafting? Check. Shooting big guns? Check. Ice hockey? Check. Seriously, she sent me photos of herself doing all this stuff. It’s a wonder how she fits anything else into her life, but she’s managed to include Crossfit as well, and we couldn’t be happier to have her as part of the CFHW family. So, without further delay, I give to you: Angela Brunson!

    Name: Angela Brunson
Height: 62 inches (makes me sound taller than 5′ 2″)
    Weight: 110
    Age: almost 40
Profession: Superhero/Crimefighter, hockey player, rock climber, marathon runner, gun shooter

How long have you been a member at CFHW?  Since November 2010, but it’s a lot like dog years and it feels like it’s really been 18 months.

How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle, level of fitness? Since I’ve become a member of the cult, chicks dig me even more.

What is your athletic background? Spent a summer working a pole before law school.

Favorite WOD: Angie. Even though I’ve never done it, I’m sure it’ll be epic, like me.

Favorite Lift: Snatch, I could say that word all day.

Least Favorite WOD: Anything with double unders.

Least Favorite Lift: Push press, it just takes so long. And split jerk sometimes makes me think I’m going to pee my pants or get a hernia. I don’t know if a girl can get a hernia or not, but feeling like I’m about to get one is not cool.

What are your proudest achievements? Finishing Badwater. (Ran 135 miles through Death Valley in July, temps reached 126 degrees, 45 hours, 37 minutes, 20 seconds). Finished 32 marathons including New York, Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, Detroit, San Francisco, Catalina, Los Angeles, Tuscon, Albuquerque, Portland, Toronto, Vancouver, Venice Italy, and Melbourne Australia. Next will be Kona Hawaii later this month.

Name one goal and/or personal record you would like to accomplish through CrossFit? Muscle up. Finish a marathon under 3:15. Yes, that’s two and you only wanted one, but one is a goal and one is a personal record and you said “and/or” so I assumed the word “one” was a modifier for each individual noun.

Any advice for someone thinking about trying CrossFit or someone who has just started? Go Paleo. What you put into your body is more important that what you put your body through.

Favorite place to eat in Los Angeles? Anywhere I can eat with my fingers without getting thrown out. Burger Kitchen, Umami Burger, 26 Beach.
